‘Love your enemies’ is one of the most challenging teachings of Jesus. It seems an impossible ideal, but Jesus gave us a practical example in the way he faced the terror of the cross. The problem is that living this way is inherently risky – especially when violence and terrorism occur and revenge seems a more efficient solution than reconciliation. Reaching out in love is clearly the radical Christian way, however.
